An update on me

Hey there, long time no see! You may have noticed that I’ve been unusually quiet since the beginning of this year. I decided to take an unannounced hiatus so that I could focus on my remaining pieces of coursework for my degree, but mainly to focus on my dissertation. I didn’t announce the hiatus just in case I felt like I could write something, but after a continuous 4 months of writing essays almost every day, I found it hard to motivate myself, or find enjoyment, in writing in my spare time. As of two days ago, I am completely finished with all the work for my degree, and hopefully by putting all my focus into it, it will pay off once I graduate. Now that I am finished, I’m looking forward to writing some more pieces on my blog, and with a plethora of exciting new releases this summer, you can guarantee that this blog will be a lot more active than it has been in the previous part of this year! As I have preordered Uncharted 4, the next piece I write will most likely be centred on this, so look out in the coming weeks. I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of things, and becoming more interactive in the WordPress community again.

If you’re reading this thanks for sticking with me despite my inactivity. As a treat here is a picture of me with my finished dissertation which I was lucky enough to write on the passion that brought me to WordPress, video games!

  1. Welcome back friend 😀 You have been missed! (Even though I’ve still conversed and played games with you for the past four months :P) Congrats on your dissertation! I’m certain you’ve lost many nights of sleep because of that bugger so it must be quite the weight lifted off of your shoulders! I look forward to your future writings, and to discuss Uncharted 4 with you 🙂 I challenge you to play some old classic games, I know access to these titles is on the difficult side for you but I’m sure you’ll think of something creative! Or you could just steal your brother’s Wii U for its virtual console! I want you to play these older games because I want you to join me in the whole “favourite games of all time” list event that a couple of bloggers will partake in later this year! Think about it!
    P.S….. nice sunglasses.

    • Thanks dude! It really is a weight off my mind finishing the last of my work. I’m definitely going to figure out how I can play some of the games you’ve recommended as I’m very intrigued. Also, the favourite games of all time post will be a lot of fun to write so I would love to take part!

  2. Yeah, I could imagine writing for a blog wouldn’t be as much fun if you had to compose several school papers in a row. I think it’s good to take a break every now and again, to be honest. Whatever the case may be, it’s good to hear from you again! I’m glad things are going well.

I might end up playing Uncharted 4 at some point, although I don’t have a PlayStation 4 yet, so that might be some ways away. I thought Uncharted 3 was okay, but it felt too by-the-book; I think this next installment will need to do something significantly different to avoid having the series stagnate.

    • Thanks man! Yeah I definitely needed a break so I could put all my focus on my coursework. I totally agree that Uncharted 3 was a bit by-the-book, but I’m hoping after the success of The Last of Us that Uncharted 4 may have learnt a thing or two. Hopefully you will get a chance to play it soon!
